Sand Spit

Surfed Sandspit, today. The swell was cranking everywhere else, but I thought that it might be a fun change of pace- especially for KB- to surf some small, clean peelers.

The tide was still fairly high when we got there, on its way to a minus.3 foot low. As it dropped it got fairly dredgey, and there was a pod of groms out on the backwash peak, both stand-up and bodyboarders. I loved surfing there when I was a kid, and even now, 35 years older than everyone else out, managing to squeak into a couple of set waves, chest-to-maybe-shoulder-high, its still just as fun as ever.

A grom or grommet isn't necessarily a beginner surfer but a YOUNG surfer... usually under the age of 15. Most of the time people that are called groms are youngins who RIP (are good)
That little grommet surfs better than i do
